Abstract	Calcium phosphate bioceramics are used widely as bone scaffold materials. To understand the process of protein adsorption on the surface of bioceramics, in the paper a Cellular Automata model is provided to simulate it. The model is concerned with the study of two-dimensional protein adsorption, considering the pore size, interconnectivity and the adsorption probability and desorption probability of proteins. Three simulation steps focusing on porous structures, body fluid flow in porous bioceramics and protein adsorption on the surface of bioceramics are discussed. The simulation results show the curves of proteins adsorbed on the surface of bioceramics vs. time are coincident with the results of the experiments in vitro.
