Abstract	The performance of a three-dimensional propagation model used for field strength prediction at 900 MHz is investigated. As propagation model the so-called urban-micro-model developed by Cichon and Wiesbeck (see FREQUENZ, vol.47, no.1-2, p.2-11, 1993) has been used. This model comprises three components, the vertical plane model, the transversal plane model and the multipath scattering model. Prediction results are compared with measurements gathered in the city of Munich. Antennas are located above as well as below the roof tops of surrounding buildings. The influence of the database accuracy on the performance of the model is analysed. Furthermore, it is shown that the vegetation in the urban areas has a significant influence on wave propagation and should be taken into account in more sophisticated and accurate three-dimensional urban propagation models.
