Abstract	The proposed paper deals with the optimization of equalizing blocks, measurement uncertainty and calibration time. The main objective of the paper is to define objectively the parameters of an equalizing block that is usually designed using only experimental data. Although heat transfer problems have been thoroughly analyzed, problem of optimal dimensions and shape of an equalizing block hasn't been completely discussed. The experimental calibration system used to prove theoretical results consists of two liquid baths for the temperature 80/spl deg/C to +290/spl deg/C. For optimization of the equalizing block, an electrical model of the calibration baths was analyzed using SPICE simulation program. An attempt is made to generalize the model of an equalizing block in order to optimize the configuration of various blocks in relevant baths.
