Abstract	Fuzzy logic approach is used in this risk assessment to analyze the generic threats in the education institution towards firewall. This assessment is very crucial as the firewall is the main network security appliance and it represents security of the whole network. The generic threats list was chosen based on MyRAM (2005) guideline from Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU). The qualitative method that leads to the understanding and holistic description of a phenomenon was applied in this study. It also generates rich, detail data from a multiple perspectives. Overall result obtained from this research shows that firewall faced moderate level of threat, which means it asunder an acceptable risk that needs suitable plan to cope with the foreseen threat.
