Abstract	The paper presents an affordable, but genuine smart device, as a versatile, complementary tool, that might be use in specialized therapeutic units or even at home. It is an important advantage, considering that most of the already developed devices can work only inside specialized institutes, as they require special operating conditions and qualified personnel. Essentially, it is a common joystick connected to a computer via USB port and software developed in LabVIEW. The system offers fast feedback, based on commands operated in real time. There were developed two versions of software: one for single hand, 2D, asynchronous movements; the other was developed for 3D exercises, synchronously performed with both hands. There are presented the block diagrams and the front panels. The software generates “handy” reports in Word or Excel format. The therapist and also the patient can see the number and quality of performed exercises, (completely or just partially done) and the corresponding necessary time, aiming to remotely evaluate the results. It is possible to transmit (or just post) the exercise-reports on the Internet. By simple knowing the address of the patient's computer, the therapist can evaluate the achieved results and modify (if necessary) the therapeutic course. It is achievable for any authorized person to change or just to improve the data base associated with the recovery exercises. Further developments of the system in order to support two joysticks or a steering wheel and two foot pedals (for many other synchronization exercises) are achievable.
