Abstract	It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2012 International conference on Fuzzy Theory and Its Applications (iFUZZY2012) at National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan, R.O.C. iFUZZY2012 is the first-year flagship conference of the Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association which has been vigorously promoting "Fuzzy Theory" related industry and the related teaching, studies and investigations in Taiwan since 1992. This year conference brings us all to the City of Central Taiwan where we invite your enthusiastic participation in our yearly international forum on latest innovations, state-of-the-art ideas, and advances in the all aspects of fuzzy theory and its applications. We hope that this year conference can be viewed as a convenient platform for the scientists, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and share experiences. With the conference hosted by National Chung Hsing University you are in great hands of Taichung hospitality. While in Taichung, we encourage you to also partake several local attractions and scenic areas that it offers, both within the city and the vicinity outside. It is within the context that we proudly present a program of nearly 100 technical papers, four social events, and four plenary speeches.
