| Abstract | This paper presents performance analysis of future PEA distribution network under high penetration of PEVs home charging. The analysis and impact assessment was evaluated by the voltage unbalance factor (%VUF), according to IEC 61000-2-4: 2000-06 standards. A distribution network was modeled based on the DIgSILENT Power Factory and DIgSILENT Programming Language (DPL). The penetration of PEVs home charging to each node and the number of PEVs to each phase was determined by Monte Carlo method. Charging scenarios was focused on overlaps of charging periods in each stage, and PEVs charging duration is about 6 hours. This paper presents 5 case studies of PEVs single phase home charging. The average points of charge were set as Max-to-Min charge, Min-to-Max charge, Central-of-feeder charge, and Random-point charge. Simulation results demonstrate that high penetration of PEVs charging raises the voltage unbalance factor (%VUF), when there are overlapping charging time periods. The %VUF rises gradually as the length of feeder increases, maximum at the end of feeder. In addition, many case studies show %VUF exceeding criterion of 2.0% of the IEC standards. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
