NDLI: Vanishing point based depth cue measurement scheme for 3DTV system

Abstract	In this paper, we proposed a vanishing point based depth cue measurement scheme for 3DTV system. A new 3DTV broadcasting channel transfers third dimensional information that adopts depth map information has been utilized for saving bandwidth. The 3D display uses Depth Image Based Rendering (DIBR) technology to render intermediate image and a depth map to form different views and synthesizes these images into one 3D image. Therefore, according to their corresponding depth map, 2D contents can be transformed into multi-view images. In order to perform a 2D to 3D conversion system, we adopt the vanishing point detection technique to find the objects and vanishing point in the image. Comparing the vanishing point of object with image, we assign depth value of image. The proposed method converts 2D images into multi-view images and provide well quality in this paper.
