| Abstract | Derrick steel structures in the work will be subjected to various dynamic loads, based on transient response analysis method, the transient response of derrick steel structures is calculated and analyzed using ANSYS. The numerical model of the derrick steel structures is established, and the first ten order natural frequencies are obtained from the result of modal analysis. Derrick steel structures in two working conditions which including abruptly pull and brake conditions (ABPC) and normal drilling conditions (NDC) are analyzed using transient response analysis method. Nodal displacements and the maximum compressive stress of trusses and the position of trusses under the maximum compressive stress in the two conditions are obtained and compared, some conclusions and suggestion to improve the reliability and safety of drilling production are provided. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
