NDLI: Second-generation Current Conveyor-Based Even/Odd Multiphase Sinusoidal Oscillators

Abstract	Some multiphase sinusoidal oscillator circuits either employing two output second generation current conveyors [DO-CCIIs) or multioutput current conveyors [MO-CCIIs] as the active devices with grounded passive components are proposed. Two [DO-CCII]-based oscillators can generate odd-phase and some even-phase output voltages while the other two can generate both odd-phase as well as even-phase output voltages. A [MO-CCIIs]- based oscillator circuit provides odd-phase and some even-phase voltages outputs as well as current outputs simultaneously. Another [MO-CCIIs]- based circuit gives both odd-phase as well as even-phase output voltages as well as current outputs simultaneously. All the oscillators can produce N (N³3) output voltages. The proposed circuits have attractive features such as grounded passive components, almost equal magnitude and equally spaced voltage and current outputs, load insensitive current outputs, low sensitivity figures, low component count and is suitability for modern IC technologies. A [MO-CCII]- based three/six-phase and four/eight-phase oscillator circuits are designed and verified by using level 3, 0.5 mm CMOS Spice model of MOCCII.
