NDLI: Three-site study of variations introduced by standard site imperfections using the ANSI63.5-1988 standard site method for antenna calibration

Abstract	Current test methodology for performing FCC Part 15 radiated emissions measurements call for all antennas used in the measurements to be calibrated with "traceability to the NIST or equivalent standards organization". Calibration per ANSI standard C63.5-1988 "meets the traceability requirement". An antenna factor/site attenuation study was performed using seven broadband antennas at three EMC test sites to determine the overall deviations with respect to the current accepted error budget. Good agreement in the antenna factor and site attenuation data gives a strong indication that the error budget is acceptable. Furthermore, the excellent site to site agreement elevates the significance of errors in previously performed studies.
