Abstract	A novel PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) used for Injection Molding Machine is designed in this paper. It has a multi-polar, proper-fraction slot, low-speed high torque characteristics. MATLAB is applied for the electromagnetic calculation and Ansoft for dynamic performance of the motor simulation. Based on this, further optimization of the electromagnetic design is completed. Two 30kw prototypes are made to complete a large number of experiments. According to the experimental data, analysis of the operational phase of the motor at low load, rated load operation and overload operation characteristics is done. We Came to the conclusion that PMSM drive system is superior than the original system, with higher efficiency, saving the volume, reducing environmental pollution.
