| Abstract | Moisture and degradation of oil-immersed power transformer dielectric material are the key factors for its failures. Therefore, in this paper moisture content, aging degree and their influence on transformer dielectric material are discussed. Chemical analyses can provide direct information on parameters, however, most chemical analyses must be performed under laboratory conditions and for some chemical analyses paper samples are needed. To overcome these disadvantages, dielectric response measurements have been introduced for state assessment of transformer dielectric material, especially for the evaluation of water content in transformer pressboard. Voltage response measurement is one of the effective diagnosis and life assessment methods. In this paper application of voltage response measurement, reliability of power transformer life assessment and reasonable explanation of polarization spectrum are introduced in detail. Investigations of several transformers in new and aged state of different designs show the voltage response measurement results can assess aging degree effectively. Therefore, it may be concluded that the method is one of the effective and credible life prediction methods of power transformer. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
