| Abstract | In this paper we present a system for gesture generation and mapping based on Performance Animation. We focus on Puppetry, a way of animating virtual actors, to implement a gesture based system to support communication between humans and 3D virtual actors. The system is low cost, easy to use and general purpose, it could be easily adapted to different scenarios and interaction needs. To this aim, the system uses consumer and mainstream technologies, supports low budget and customizable motioncapture equipment, and work with models made with commercial modelling software. |
