Abstract	Software testing is an important part of the software engineering life cycle. Testing requires resources that are often not readily available - contributing to an inefficient testing process. Imagine a scenario where an application needs to be tested for multiple operating systems, multiple browsers, requires different database clients and different server interactions; a tester running thousands of test cases each day had to configure the machines. There is a huge cost associated with setting up and tearing down test configurations every time testing needs to be done (i.e. server setup, database clients setup, installation of the product). Using virtual machines to perform testing is not a new idea. Testing teams are one of the early adopters of virtual machines. The problem arises when these virtual machines are not available as needed. As well, there are other problems that can be encountered such as servers, databases etc., not working properly with virtualized environments. The solution to this problem could be found taking the testing process to the cloud.
