| Abstract | The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the cause of AIDS, one of the Worlds' deadliest infections, with approximately 34 million people currently infected with HIV. As a result, numerous HIV research has been carried out in the past 30 years, producing a large number of publications. This has highlighted the need for comprehensive, accurate and well-annotated HIV resources that allow for easy access to reliable information that is normally difficult to find. Furthermore, with the increase in antiviral drug resistance there is an ever-growing necessity for the development of novel antiviral therapies. Considering that the current antiviral drugs target specific HIV proteins, extensive knowledge of these proteins is required by researchers. The BioAfrica HIV proteomics resource was developed in 2005 to provide users with the latest information on HIV-1 $proteins^{1}.$ This included information on protein structure, post-translational and transcriptional modifications, gene expression, protein function, and protein-protein interactions; as well as to provide links to relevant bioinformatics tools. This resource has been very popular over the years and has been referenced in UniProt. In a joint-collaboration between Africa Centre and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), the BioAfrica HIV proteomics resource has been updated to include current knowledge on HIV protein research. Furthermore, additional features to the resource have been added; including information on HIV-1/human protein-protein interactions, genomic location and sequence information, HIV anti-retrovirals and drug resistance mutations, as well as links to relevant HIV databases. In addition, this proteomics resource has been linked to a comprehensive and well-annotated HIV resource that has curated knowledge on aspects of the HIV life cycle. This HIV resource is housed in ViralZone (http://viralzone.expasy.org/all_by_species/4976.html) and was created as part of the same Swiss-South Africa collaboration. The BioAfrica HIV proteomics resource is publically accessible via the BioAfrica website (http://bioafrica.net/proteomics/HIVproteome.html). |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
