Abstract It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Joint Workshop on Foundations of Mobile Computing (DIALM/POMC) 2005. This workshop has continued to flourish since its inception attracting submissions and attendees from all over the world. The goal of this workshop is to foster cooperation among practitioners and theoreticians in the field of mobile and wireless computing and communications. It is intended to be a lively meeting, covering many of the algorithmic aspects of this field ranging from operations research to radio engineering problems. We believe the technical program of this year will help meet this goal. The call for papers attracted 34 submissions. The program committee accepted 13 papers that cover a variety of topics, including energy efficiency, MAC layer design, localization, geographic routing, and resilient topology construction. All papers went through a thorough two-stage review process (in addition to a quick reject phase that identified papers that were clearly out-of-scope). In the first stage three independent reviews were sought for each paper followed by a second stage where discussions were conducted among the reviewers to reach a final decision. We are grateful to the hard work of the program committee and additional reviewers in helping us finalize the program. We are extremely pleased with the final technical program and we thank all authors that submitted papers to DIALM/POMC 2005. In addition, the program includes a keynote talk by David B. Johnson. We believe that the keynote talk and the rest of the technical program will serve as a valuable reference for researchers and developers.

About National Digital Library of India (NDLI)
NDLI logo

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
