Description | The Washington Sunday Globe, active in 1901, was a Democratic newspaper known for its yellow journalism style. Founded by William J. Elliott, who had previous experience in muckraking journalism, the paper covered national and local scandals with sensationalism. Elliott's colorful history included a conviction for second-degree murder following a street fight with a former employee. Despite its promise of sensational content, the Sunday Globe only lasted a year before folding. Elliott went on to publish another short-lived paper, The Graft, in 1905. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1901 of this newspaper. |
