Abstract | Dementia, in most cases, is an ailment that cannot be cured once it has been contracted. This ailment causes great disabilities to the a ffected, and can remain relatively hidden from others in initial stages as its progress is slow, but exponential. Its accurate early detection requires not only doctors who have a lot of experience in this particular domain but also resources like periodic MRI scans of the brain which show the changes that have taken place in it. Hence, early diagnosis is not always achieved. We try to increase the chances of this by creating an early warning system that alerts the doctor to the possible onset of dementia in a patient. This report presents the fi ndings of multiple machine learning approaches that were attempted to solve this problem. |
