| Abstract | In Part I of this paper is described the newspecies Phyllotheca Sahnii based upon a carbonized crust in two counterparts, preserved in a dark grey micaceous shale from a horizon variously interpreted as Barakar or Karharbari in the South Rewa Gondwana basin, Central India (N. K. N. Aiyengar collection, Geological Survey of India, specimen No. K 25/522).In Part II the closely allied form Phyllotheca Etheridgei Arber, from the Newcastle series, New South Wales, is described and figured in some detail on the basis of the type material received from theAustralian Museum, Sydney, and Sedgwick Museum, Cambridge.A comparison of the two forms shows thatalthough closely allied, they are two distinct species of the genus. |
