Presidency Nostalgia: Socio-economic Background

Content Provider Presidency Alumni Association Calcutta
Editor Panda, Koustubh
Description The results of the general survey have provided sufficient reasons to assert that the Presidencians of today come from families not only with higher income but also with higher academic and professional attainments compared to their predecessors. Elementary education through the mother tongue though laudable, calls for a fresh look at the policy-making level, particularly when it has placed at a disadvantage the larger section of Bengali students in college and higher up in the ladder. It is therefore for the policymakers to find out what really ails the much-publicized " free education system" to the point of pushing generation of young rural boys and girls out of the frame of the welfare state and thereby creating an avoidable division between the urban elite and the rural poor.

NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources.
