NDLI: Production. Fifty-foot steel ramp boats. Launching a fifty-foot steel ramp boat, just completed at a Southern boatyard. Boats of this kind, powered by twin diesel engines, are used in making beach landings of men, tanks and other equipment on hostile shores. After a trial run this boat will be removed from the water and prepared for railroad shipment
