NDLI: Lined up for food Citizens of Athens line up in front of a soup kitchen run by British troops. The kitchens, which are distinct from those run by Military Liaison and UNRRA, were established to help speed up distribution and to make sure that everyone receives food rations. Pipers march up and down the lines entertaining people during the hours that the kitchens are in operation.
