Description | Fifteen-panel cartoon shows Ignatz, the mouse, doing stunts on a flying trapeze. The 14th panel shows Krazy Kat at the box office. The attendant says, "Your money back -- didn't you see a great trapeze act?" Krazy asks, "Did it fly?" Meanwhile Ignatz, standing in the doorway, prepares to hurl a brick. In the last panel, Krazy watches as Ignatz performs a horizontal trapeze stunt. The comic strip, which was published from 1916 to 1944, featured Krazy Kat (of unknown gender) who was in love with Ignatz, the mouse, who in return hated Krazy and demonstrated it by throwing a brick at him/her whenever possible. Krazy interpreted this as a sign of love. |
