| Description | The first panel right of the entrance represents the karana, tala-puspa-puta. The position of the sculpture itself is highly suggestive of offering flowers to the Supreme Parasiva who is identified with Paramananda tandavamurti suggested in the form of space inside the sanctum garbhagrha. It has been mentioned earlier that the Supreme dance takes place in space and the first karana is positioned at the entrance as if offering flowers to Parakasa, the main philosophy on which the temple is built. The sculpture portrayssiva with four arms performing the dance karana called tala-puspa-puta in which the front arms are joined in the act of offering flowers with his palms held like a cup, which gives the name to the karana as puspa puta flower cup. The hand offering almost assumes the gesture of anjali (respectful salutations). The offering arms are in the left side of the chest but pushed forward in the moment of offering with the front fingers pointing down. The left arm is slightly raised and the right bent at the elbow is pushed down slightly and extended to suggest the action of offering. The face is turned in the same direction while the head is slightly thrown back. rmally the eyes should be looking at the hand gesture - the eye should move with the hand gesture is the general principle - but here it is shown raised up suggesting the floral offering is at its end. The rear arms are also bent at the elbow, the right holding the drum and the left fire, along with the movements of the arms called sannatam parsvam. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
