Service law - lPS - Promotion - Preparation of list of suitable officers under Regulation 5 - Number of State Police service officers to be included in the list - Preparation of select list by State Government for the year 1977 on 23rd November, 1976 - Select Committee required to consider vacancies anticipated for the period November 1976 to November 1977 - As per Regulation 5 the Committee considered the number of anticipated vacancies as five and prepared the select list consisting of twice that number i.e. 10 persons - List approved by UPSC - Name of appellant not figuring in the select list - In this list nobody junior to appellant was included - Appellant's contention that four carried over vacancies which remained unfilled out of 1976 select list should also have been taken into account - Held not maintainable in view of the provisions of Regulations 5 and 7 - Held anticipated vacancies were five, and preparation of a select list of ten was in accordance with Regulation 5 - Proviso added to regulation 7 in 1989 Held inapplicable - Appellant's name included in the select list of 1978 while his batch mate, who was throughout senior to him, was included in the list of 1977 - Held no prejudice was caused to the appellant by reason of the fact that his name is included for the first time only in the select list of 1978. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
