Description | Mosses and ferns fall into two types: vascular and nonvascular. Vascular means they have tubes running through them that can carry water and nutrients. Non-vascular plants, like liverworts, do not have tubes so they are much smaller. This slide show from StudyJams provides detailed pictures and descriptions of both. The images are set to music while information is printed below the pictures. Other key vocabulary words include: spores, rhizoids, gametophyte, and fronds. A short, self-checking quiz is also provided with this link. |
