The start of the video discusses Charlie Chaplin arriving in the United States with the Karno troupe on October 2, 1912. According to Ellis Island Immigration Records he had $45 in his pocket Chaplin arrived with Stan Laurel with whom he shared a room in a boarding house. Since cooking was impossible Chaplin would play the violin to cover up the sound of Laurel frying up food up food on a hot plate. Video then shows a boat coming into Ellis Island, and immigrants getting off the boat. Video is black and white and there is no talking, video is set to music.
