Description | San Francisco’s homeless problem has reached crisis proportions. When Doniece Sandoval was driving through SF’s notorious Tenderloin district as she had many times, her cab driver casually called it a place of broken dreams. At that moment, she had an epiphany - that these were real people, who’d grown up never wanting this fate for themselves, but nevertheless ended up there. She was determined to do something to help them and change the terrible status quo. Soon, she had an idea - to take the food trucks that were often seen as a symbol of gentrification and turn them into mobile shower units that can travel the city to serve the homeless population where they are.
