Description | In this video students will learn many facts about hummingbirds. A hummingbird's heart beats 1260 times a minute. Their wings beat 55-75 times in that same minute. They weigh one-tenth of an ounce. They can fly backwards, forwards, up, down, upside down, and can hover in mid-air. They feed on nectar from a variety of flowers and may visit 1000 flowers a day. They prefer 25% sugar. They feed in small doses. This is a great teaching resource for elementary/middle school students. This video would work well in conjunction with a story about hummingbirds, units/lessons on birds and/or migration. . |
