| Description | Almost six years to the day after it began, the bloodiest war in history drew to a close. And, there were a number of things at play that led to this end. The Axis, while successful at the outset of the war, had stalled and was failing badly. Eventually, after a few rough battles, including most importantly the Battle of Berlin, led to the Nazi downfall. However, the Japanese remained fervent in their fight, until two atomic bombs were dropped on that country in early August 1945. In Part 8 of our series on WWII, WatchMojo.com looks at the final days of the Second World War and how it finally came to an end. |
