Description | Eight stars of gold on a field of blue is Alaska's flag. The blue background represents the sky, the sea, and mountain lakes, as well as Alaska’s wildflowers. The eight gold stars: seven in the constellation Ursa Major, or the Big Dipper. The eighth star represents the North Star, because Alaska is the northern most state. The anthem is “Alaska’s Flag” composed by Elinor Dusenbury and Carol Beery Davis. With this video you can see the flag and hear the anthem. Good for all students. |
