Description	This document is a text book on Social Science of Standard VIII of Kerala Board. It has seven units. The features of human life in stone age and the significance of cave painting s are described in unit I along pictures and chart. Unit II contains the details of ancient civilizations like Indus valley, Egyptian, Mesopotanian and Chinese along with maps and charts. By reading unit III learners can develop knowledge about the different layers of earth, rock cycle and importance of soil conservation. The three organs of our government Legislature, Executive and Judiciary are explained in unit IV. The learners will acquire knowledge about the Megalithic period from unit V. They will develop knowledge about different types of Maps and can understand the basic economic problems of India by reading this book.
