Description	কিছুদিন আগেও স্বাভাবিক নিয়মের বার্ধক্যপ্রাপ্তিকে অপরিবর্তনীয় আবস্থা বলে ভাবা হত। কিন্তু জরাবিজ্ঞানের অনুশীলনে এখন আমরা জানতে পেরেছি বার্ধক্য বা জরা বিলম্বিত করা যায়, দেহে ও মনে তারুণ্যকে ধরে রাখা যায়। বেদে অনেক আগেই বার্ধক্য ও তার সমস্যার কথা উল্লেখ করে তা কিভাবে কাটিয়ে ওঠা যায় সেই সংক্রান্ত সক্রিয়তার মতবাদ দেওয়া হয়েছে। এই প্রবন্ধে বার্ধক্যের বিভিন্ন দিক ও বার্ধক্য কিভাবে মানুষকে জরাগ্রস্ত করে সে বিষয়ে কিছু মতবাদ আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। Even a few days ago, normal aging was considered to be an unchangeable condition. But in the practice of geriatrics, we have now learned that aging can be delayed, and youth can be retained in body and mind. The Vedas have long ago mentioned old age, its problems and the doctrine of activism, and how to overcome aging. This article discusses various aspects of aging and how does aging affects people.
