Abstract	On the basis of experience with a patient, the problems encountered in the inducement of a proper and timely nutritional therapy in the case of a rapidly advancing malignant disease are shown. The report addresses the issue of criteria for determining malnutrition as well as the difference between enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition.
