| Abstract | In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of the Hen Harrier (Circus cyaneus) was sequenced. The genome is found to be 18,754 bp in length and has a base composition of A (31.7%), G (13.0%), C (31.2%), and T (24.1%). Similar to other Circus species, it contains a typically conserved structure including 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 2 control region (D-loop), and 22 tRNA genes. A phylogenetic analysis between 17 species using 12 protein-coding genes proved that Accipiter gentilis is the most close to Circus cyaneus. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
