| Abstract | Die Typusart vonAndegavia Pillet 1972, =Andeg. simplex Pillet 1972, ist nur durch ihren Holotypus bekannt, ein sehr charakteristisches Pygidium. Praktisch identisch sind die Pygidien zweier weiterer Arten, die jedoch aufgrund ihrer Cranidien auf zwei Taxa:Andegavia? undSagittapeltis Kim 1997 verteilt werden. Zur Kenntnis des genauen Umfangs vonAndegavia ist somit auch das Cranidium notwendig. Ganz allgemein scheinen Cranidien der Andegavien eineKolihapeltis-artige Konstruktion zu haben. Panzer von Andegavien liegen nur aus Marokko vor. Hier sind die Flanken der Thoraxsegmente im Wesentlichen stachelartig und ihre sehr kurzen (tr.) Flansche sind in rückwärtigen Teilen des Thorax kürzer (tr.) als in vorderen. In letzterer Hinsicht ähnlich ist zunächstKolihapeltis chlupaci ssp. cf.hollardi Alberti. Situationsbedingt, werden auch zukünftige Untersuchungen kaum in der Lage sein, die Systematik zu erweitern.Andegavien sind in Frankreich, Marokko und Deutschland nachgewiesen. Sie lebten vorwiegend im Dalejium, vielleicht sogar noch im frühen Eifelium. Ober ihre Lebensräume ist wenig bekannt, da nur im Fall von Marokko die Fundumstände Rückschlüsse erlauben: Hier kann für wenigstens einen Lebensraum von ruhigen hydrodynamischen Verhältnissen in einer H$_{2}$S-haltigen Schlammkalk-Umgebung gesprochen werden. Alle Arten verweisen auf Beziehungen zu herzynischen Fazies.The type species ofAndegavia Pillet is known only by its holotype which is a characteristic pygidium. Investigation of twoAndegavia-like species having a pygidium almost identical to that of this type species shows that the corresponding cranidia markedly differ from each other; thus related species are regarded as belonging to different genera. Consequently, diagnostics of theAndegavia group remain difficult. Generally, the cranidia of this group are close to those of someKolihapeltis Prantl &Pribyl. In three fairly complete specimens withAndegavia-like pygidia from Morocco the pleural segments are almost completely reduced to more or less long spines, and the short articulating flanges become narrower in posterior parts of the thorax. The latter is similar to conditions found in at least oneKolihapeltis. However, since complete specimens from other sites are lacking, and since the thorax of otherKolihapeltis is only poorly known, these new data do not yet provide a sufficient background for sound taxonomy and systematics. Since the conditions for further fieldwork on this matter are poor, it is quite questionable whether future investigation will be able to find more enhanced solutions to this problematics.Andegavine trilobites have been reported from Morocco, from France and from Germany. They lived mainly in the Dalejian age (Late Devonian), but they possibly came from the Zlichovian and reached even the early Eifelian. As to their habitats, there is little evidence available, because only the material from Morocco provides reliable data indicating that one of the habitats represented conditions of a hydrodyna-mically low-energy, muddy, not well oxyginated and H$_{2}$S bearing surrounding. The European species have been found associated with trilobites attributed usually to kinds of the Hercynian facies. |

It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
