NDLI: Contribution to the biostratigraphy around the Lochkovian-Pragian boundary in Central Asia (graptolites, tentaculites, conodonts)

Abstract	Graptolites, conodonts and pelagic tentaculites were collected from three sections (Shishkat, Kyk, and Almaly) in the Southern Tien-Shan, Central Asia, in order to integrate these biostratigraphic sequences around the Lochkovian-Pragian boundary. TheMonograptus falcarius Zone, which has generally been assigned to the lowermost Pragian, was found to belong to the uppermost Lochkovian instead. TheM. falcarius Zone is directly overlain by species of the coiled dacryoconarid genera,Procorniculina andCorniculinoides. Those occur together with a distinct subspecies of the conodont speciesEognathodus sulcatus, most probablyE. s. irregularis s. str., which indicates the base of the Pragian. The Lochkovian/ Pragian Boundary in Central Asia is followed closely by a significant facies change that can be observed globally.Im zentralasiatischen, südlichen Tien-Shan wurden in drei Profilen (Shishkat, Kyk, Almaly) Graptolithen, Conodonten und pelagische Tentakuliten aufgesammelt, um deren biostratigraphische Abfolge im Bereich der Lochkovium/Pragium-Grenze zu präzisieren und zu parallelisieren. Die Zone desMonograptus falcarius, die meist in das unterste Pragium gestellt wurde, gehört in das oberste Lochkovium. Die Zone wird direkt überlagert von Arten der eingerollten pelagischen Tentakuliten-GattungenProcorniculina undCorniculinoides. Sie erscheinen erstmals zusammen mit einer bestimmten Unterart der Conodonten-ArtEognathodus sulcatus, wahrscheinlichE. s. irregularis. Dieses Taxon kennzeichnet die Basis der Prag-Stufe. Wenig oberhalb der Grenze Lochkovium/Pragium folgt in Zentralasien ein signifikanter Fazies-Wechsel, der weltweit zu beobachten ist.
