| Abstract | Electrical resistivity surveys were undertaken in the Eumsung Basin (Cretaceous), Korea to delineate basin geometry. Basin boundaries were effectively clarified in electrical dipole-dipole resistivity section as high resistivity contrast bands. A statistical analysis on the resistivity section was tested in terms of standard deviation and was applied to electrical dipole-dipole and magnetotelluric resistivity structures. The objective was to improve resistivity imaging of basin-margin fault and basin structure. This focusing strategy proved to be effective in the subsurface reconstruction of basin architecture as well as the surface demarcation of basin-margin faults and brittle fracture zones. On the basis of statistical analysis, the maximum depth of the basin varies from about 1km in the northern part to approximately 4 km in the middle part. The approach of image focusing technique can be an important tool in clarification of some major ambiguities that one is often faced with in interpretation of resistivity inversion results. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
