Abstract	The paper summarizes results of a research project commissioned by the City of Munich into the social problems of undocumented migrants. The accommodation situation, health problems, women as a vulnerable group, employment and the economic dimension of the undocumented as a “silent reserve” are principal topics addressed by the article. Analytical hypotheses on the findings are followed by concluding remarks on reconmendations to the local authority in order to address the social and human rights concerns raised by the precarious existential conditions faced by the sans papiers.L'article décrit les résultats d'une recherche entreprise pour la commune de Munich (Allemagne) sur les problèmes sociaux des sans papiers. Les thèmes principaux touchent le logement, les problèmes de santé, les femmes comme groupe vulnérable, et l'emploi et la dimension économique des sans papiers comme «réserves cachées» dans le monde du travail. Les hypothèses analytiques précèdent les dernières remarques sur les recommadations pour la commune de Munich sur la façon d'aborder les problèmes sociaux et la question des droits de la personne qui découlent de l'existence précaire des sans papiers.
