| Abstract | A mechanical model previously developed is briefly described and linked to particle velocity versus size relationships experimentally obtained, allowing prediction of the energy of rebound of an aggregate particle during shooting. In addition, a failure criterion, based on the work necessary to debond a particle, is introduced in order to allow calculating the probability of rebound. The model shows good agreement with the experimental data in terms of predicting not only the overall rate of rebound but also its composition. This model provides a novel insight into the mechanisms involved in dry-mix shotcrete aggregate rebound and offers rational explanations to its dependence on aggregate size, cement content, shooting consistency and presence of silica fume.Un modèle mécanique précédemment élaboré est brièvement décrit et lié à la vitesse des particules par rapport à des relations de taille obtenues expérimentalement, permettant la prédiction de l'énergie de rebondissement d'une particule de granulat lors de sa projection. De plus, on introduit un critère de rupture, basé sur le travail nécessaire pour la décohésion d'une particule, ce qui permet de calculer la probabilité de rebondissement. Ce modèle s'accorde bien avec les données expérimentales en ce qui concerne la prédiction non seulement du taux global de rebondissement mais également de sa composition. Ce modèle fournit des éclaircissements nouveaux sur les mécanismes impliqués dans le rebondissement des granulats de béton à mélange sec projeté, et fournit des explications rationnelles concernant sa dépendance sur la taille des granulats, la teneur en ciment, la consistance de projection et la présence de fumée de silice. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
