Abstract The paper analyzes the global carbon dioxide balance and uses it to build Russia’s national balance, from which it follows that to develop its energy sector, which depends on fossil fuel combustion, Russia has forests with enough carbon absorptive capacity to last it, without applying costly carbon absorption technologies, until the end of this century.
