Abstract In this paper, LCA activities were reviewed mainly focusing on symposiums and conferences. There are more other activities that were not described here. One of them is the national LCA project [12] promoted by JEMAI, which was introduced in this journal [13]. In this project, the methodology of life cycle impact assessment for Japan has been developed, the progress of which was also introduced in this journal [14].

It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
