Abstract The possibility of the detection of hidden flaws in magnetization with a geomagnetic field was determined experimentally. Steel rods 3 mm in diameter and 2 m long, which were prepared from a wire that is used in shock absorber springs, were used as test objects.

It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
