| Abstract | Ag$^{+}$-doped CrMgO$_{ x }$ samples were prepared by a mixing method and heated in air at 400 and 700 °C. The calcined samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) specific surface area (S $_{BET}$) measurements, and H$_{2}$O$_{2}$ decomposition and 2-propanol conversion techniques. Doping the CrMgO$_{ x }$ system with Ag$^{+}$ cations resulted in destabilization of the MgO structure and stimulation of the solid–solid interactions between the system components. Doping the CrMgO$_{ x }$ system calcined at 400 °C with 0.75 mol% Ag$^{+}$ species increased the total conversion of 2-propanol by 3.4-fold at 225 °C. Treatment of the investigated system with Ag$^{+}$ species increased both its basic and redox properties. Doping the CrMgO$_{ x }$ system calcined at 700 °C with 0.75 mol% Ag$^{+}$ species increased the reaction rate constant k 30 °C * (min$^{−1}$ g$^{−1}$) of H$_{2}$O$_{2}$ decomposition by 97.3-fold. This work investigated the role of Ag$^{+}$ doping on the solid–solid interaction between the components of the investigated system as well as its redox and acid–base properties. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
