| Abstract | This contribution presents a study of the reactions of ReH$_{3}$(CO)(PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$ (1) with a variety of metallic Lewis acids of the coinage metals to form hydrido-bridged heterometallic rhenium-gold, rhenium-silver, and rhenium-copper complexes. The reaction of 1 with AuCl(PPh$_{3}$) proceeds with elimination of hydrogen to give the hydrido-bridged heterobinuclear rhenium-gold complex (PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$(CO)ClRe(μ-H)Au(PPh$_{3}$) (2). In contrast, the reactions of 1 with AgPF$_{6}$, [Cu(CH$_{3}$CN)$_{4}$]PF$_{6}$ or CuCl proceed without elimination of hydrogen to give the hydrido-bridged heterotrinuclear rhenium-silver and rhenium-copper complexes [(PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$(CO)HRe(μ-H)$_{2}$M(μ-H)$_{2}$ReH(CO)(PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$]PF$_{6}$ (M=Ag (3), Cu (4)) and the hydrido-bridged heterotetranuclear rhenium-copper complex (PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$(CO)HRe(μ-H)$_{2}$Cu(μ-Cl)$_{2}$Cu(μ-H)$_{2}$ReH(CO)(PMe$_{2}$Ph)$_{3}$ (5), respectively. The molecular structures of compounds 2 and 3 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Crystallographic data for 2: monoclinic, space group P2$_{1}$2$_{1}$2$_{1}$, a=12.804(2) Å, b=13.512(2) Å, c=24.312(3) Å, V=4206(1) Å$^{3}$, Z=4, and R=0.042. Crystallographic data for 3: monoclinic, space group C2/c, a=24.212(6) Å, b=13.098(3) Å, c=20.177(5) Å, b=116.40(2)°, V=5732(2) Å$^{3}$, Z=4, and R=0.044. The X-ray crystal structure of 2 exhibits a short contact (2.798(12) Å) between the gold atom and the CO ligand that is primarily bound to the adjacent rhenium atom, suggesting an incipient semibridging relationship. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
