| Abstract | Sufficiently refined mathematic models are currently under development for systems, including the body of a concrete dam and the enclosing rock mass of the bed. The degree of detailing of the structural components of the structure and individual blocks of the bed, and also the possibility of adequate reflection of mechanical properties of the concrete and rocks will enable us to obtain good correspondence between results of numerical investigations and data derived from field observations. Moreover, it is found possible in a number of cases to answer principal questions relating to the condition of the structure, and, to wit: to what extent the concrete dam has adapted to the surrounding rock blocks, whether irreversible processes in the concrete-rock complex have been completed, what are the magnitudes of the residual displacements, to what extent the structure is monolithic, etc. At the VNIIG im. B. E. Vedeneeva, similar mathematical models are being developed for the gravity dam at the Bureya HPP and the arch-gravity dam at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP. This paper presents results of numerical investigations and field data for the concrete arch-gravity dam of the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, which are pertinent to systemic displacements of several sections of the dam that are fitted with string-type plumbs, and to the angles of incline of horizontal sections, which are obtained with use of transverse hydrostatic levels. It is demonstrated that during the period after completion of repair work, the rate of accumulation of systemic residual displacements is extremely low, and does not present a risk to the structure. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
