Abstract	Back to the Future: Taking Stock on Intra-Industry Trade. — This paper begins by examining the unresolved issues identified in an earlier analysis of the literature. It then sets out developments in theory, measurement, empirical analysis and policy. The progress made on each of these fronts is assessed and remaining unresolved issues identified. The paper argues that the last decade has seen very considerable progress in the measurement of intra-industry trade and in the way the empirical investigations are conducted. It also argues that on the modelling front considerable progress has been made in incorporating spatial and growth dimensions into the paradigm.Zurück zur Zukunft. Eine Bestandsaufnahme über den intraindustriellen Handel. — Die Verfasser beginnen damit, die ungelösten Fragen zu untersuchen, die sie in einem früheren Literaturüberlick genannt hatten. Dann stellen sie dar, wie sich Theorie, Meßmethoden, empirische Analyse und Politik entwickelt haben. Sie bewerten die Fortschritte auf jedem dieser Gebiete und benennen die verbleibenden Probleme. Sie stellen fest, daß in der letzten Dekade sehr beachtliche Fortschritte bei der Messung des intraindustriellen Handels und bei der Methode empirischer Untersuchungen gemacht wurden. Sie behaupten außerdem, daß beim Modellieren große Fortschritte erzielt wurden, indem die Dimensionen des Raumes und des Wachstums in das Paradigma einbezogen wurden.
