Abstract	RESUMO: O estudo trata de uma possivel leitura de critica do regime ditatorial militar das decadas de 60 e 70, no seculo XX, no Brasil, atraves da personagem Joao Paz, no romance Incidente em Antares, de Erico Verissimo. A pesquisa, de cunho bibliografico, tem embasamento em teoricos da atualidade que tratam de temas relacionados a Historia e a Literatura de nosso pais. A pesquisa volta-se para consideracoes sobre esses dois temas, fazendo uma analise da construcao da personagem Joao Paz e realizando um estudo que relaciona os acontecimentos da ficcao com os fatos que foram vivenciados pela sociedade brasileira nas decadas de 60 e 70. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Ditadura Militar – Critica social – Incidente em Antares ABSTRACT: This paper refers to a possible critic reading to the Brazilian military and dictatorial regime in the 1960´s and 1970s, trough the eyes of Joao Paz, a character in the novel of Erico Verissimo, Incidente em Antares. The research, from a bibliographic point of view, has been based on recent theories that relate to facts in the History and Literature of our country. The research is based on those two contexts, analyzing the construction of the character and relating the fiction with the happenings that were experienced by the Brazilian society in those days.
