| Abstract | Summary Objective. In order to know the prevalence and current situation of Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) in the Primary Health Care sector in Spain, an epidemiological survey was designed under the co-ordination of the Management Council of the Spanish Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SEACV in its Spanish acronym). Patients and methods. The survey has involved 1,068 Primary Care physicians (coordinated by 20 specialists in Angiology and Vascular Surgery), who enrolled 21,566 patients attending clinics spontaneously. Results. Of the participants, 80.3% showedsome risk factor for CVI.
